About
THE STORY BEHIND THE STUDIO
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to houses, renovating them, building them, changing them and working out what makes them feel right.
Over the years, I’ve realised I’m not interested in following trends or creating spaces that feel too new or perfectly matched. I’m drawn to character, older homes, traditional details, vintage pieces, beautiful fabrics and interiors with a sense of history.
That became the direction behind Raw. Mood. Studio.
After creating homes myself, I decided to bring that experience into design professionally. My approach is about finding the balance between old and new, the charm and character of traditional details, with the comfort and practicality of modern living.
It might be a vintage vanity, a wallpapered wall, beautiful curtains, a checkerboard floor or a modern kitchen alongside traditional features.
The goal is simple, to create homes with personality, where every room feels connected and the whole house feels like it belongs together.
ABOUT DAYNA HOWELL
My approach is shaped by formal design training, but also by years of living in, building and renovating homes myself.
I understand the practical side of creating a home, how it needs to function, what needs to be decided early, and how all the little choices eventually come together.
But I’m equally interested in how a home feels.
I’m drawn to homes with personality, the kind of spaces where you notice the wallpaper, the old mirror, the timber, the curtains, the beautiful light fitting or the slightly unexpected piece of furniture.
I like traditional details mixed with modern comfort.
I like colour.
I like pattern.
I like timber that looks like timber.
I like materials that get better with age.
And I believe a new home doesn’t have to look new.
RAW.
Natural materials. Timber. Stone. Brick. Aged finishes. Imperfection. Materials that feel honest and get better with time.
MOOD.
Colour. Wallpaper. Pattern. Lighting. Contrast. Fabrics. Furniture. The details that change how a room feels.
Together, they create homes that feel collected, personal and full of character.
